A 21-year-old Canadian sprinter name Andre De Grasse is featuring among those joining in the circle around #theU-Bolt to stake his claim on the title of “fastest”, having recently run under 10 seconds for the first time, De Grasse out of Markham, Ont. Is proving himself a formidable contender.
In two months, the 21-year-old Markham, Ont., runner has gone from finishing last against veterans Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell at Eugene Diamond League to dipping below 10 seconds for the first time this season to beating Powell, a former world-record holder, at an American Track League event, De Grasse's final race before the Rio Olympics. Russians 'have team 271 athletes cleared to compete
271 Athletes which is more than two-thirds of their original entry list of 389 athletes, have been decleared cleaned and cleared to go, this despite the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) recommending a blanket ban after a state-sponsored doping scandal.
The Russian team may have experienced the toughest checks of the Olympics, because they had to go through multiple tests and checked, "So, as of now, the Russian team is probably the cleanest in Rio." Said Russia's Olympic Committee president Alexander Zhukov. Read more
